Thought I would show you a couple of the tree paintings that I did for the show at Mukilteo Art & Frame in December. I painted four paintings for that show, and they were all completely different. The vertical piece above is done with a faux encaustic finish, which I haven't used for a long time. I liked it so much that I am working on a larger version of this painting, which is only 12x18.
I work primarily with acrylic on canvas, board or watercolor paper. My style is loose and very colorful. I consider myself an experimental painter and often incorporate elements such as ink, graphite, paper, beads, clay and whatever else I happen across. Whether I am painting a landscape, still life or abstract, the subject is simply a vehicle for the color and stroke. I work from my imagination and go wherever the painting takes me,working on several paintings simultaneously. I call my work Joyful Art because creating it brings me such joy.
