New Encaustics

I am back into painting with encaustic lately.  It seems that I go in streaks painting with acrylic, mixed media and then encaustic.  It is currently encaustic.  I will post some below.  I do not usually paint with such bright colors when using encaustic, but I did a couple last week.



I also did a few in the more muted colors that I usually use.  I don't really know why I paint with bright colors when using acrylics and muted colors when I use encaustics.  It just seems like the right thing to do. As an intuitive painter, I often cannot explain why I do what I do, which is why I do not teach.

    It's interesting to see how the bright colored encaustics come out Sue. I also tend to a neutral pallette in encaustics and bright colors for acrylic/mixed media. Can't explain. But these above are all fun and quite different from each other and from your acrylic work. Keep on!
